陸前高田市の新たな地域産業となるピーカンナッツの加工工場と店舗、食文化の発信拠点としての産業振興施設のプロポーザル案。大部分を工場が占めるため、無機質で冷たい印象を与える大きな建物にならないように配慮し、訪れる人々を優しく迎え入れるような温かみのある建物になることを目指した。そこで、工場と店舗が中庭を挟む分棟型とすることで、店舗を気仙大工の知恵を生かした木構造で構成できるようにした。敷地前面と中庭に広がるピーカンナッツの森と連続する樹状柱が林立し、森のようにどこまでも広がるような空間を提案した。その樹状柱に支えられた軒は、周辺の軒を活かした建築群とも調和し、隣接する広場に向けた縁側となり、広場と一体的に利用できるようにしている。中庭は、店舗を訪れた人々の憩いの場となると共に、工場の食堂や事務室に自然通風や自然光を取り込み、快適な労働環境を創出する。

Rikuzentakata Pecan Nut Factory & Store Competition

Competition Scheme for a factory and store of pecan nut, which will be new core industry in the region. It also work as facility to promote the new food culture. The most of the building will be occupied by the factory function, which gives impression of machinery and cold to visitors; however, we aimed to create a warm and welcome feeling of the atmosphere.
By inserting a courtyard between the factory and the store, the store can be constructed in timber frames that taking advantages of traditional Kesen carpentry craft. Dendritic pillars like pecan nut trees continues to the pecan nut forest in the courtyard and the adjacent site and create a relentless space. The eave supported by the pillars harmonize the surrounding context and also work as a porch for the adjacent plaza to be used integrally. The courtyard will be a place of relaxation for visitors to the store, and will create a comfortable working environment by taking in natural ventilation and natural light into the cafeteria and office of the factory.

①与件/ Given Conditions
工場と店舗の延床面積は約1700㎡となり、1500㎡を超えるため耐火建築物としなければならず、主要構造の耐火被覆や屋内消火栓免除のための内装制限が必要となりコストがかかる。
The building is required to be a fireproof building since the total floor area of the factory and store is about 1700 m2, which exceeds 1500 m2.
②店舗を離す/ Separation
店舗を切り離し、耐火構造の渡り廊下で結ぶことで、工場部分を1400㎡未満に抑え、屋内消火栓を必要としない準耐火建築物とする。店舗部分は木造とすることが可能となり、イニシャルコストを抑える。
By separating the store from the factory to reduce under 1400㎡, the fireproof restriction of factory part is loosen to meet. The store part can be build in pure timber structure.
③周辺との調和/ Harmony
工場部分を２つの切妻屋根をかけ、よりヒューマンスケールに近い建物として圧迫感を抑え周辺環境と調和させる。店舗自体がエンガワのように機能し、周辺のエンガワ建築と共に町全体をエンガワでつなぐ。
The factory part has two gable roofs to make it more human scale building. The store part works as a porch for square adjacent to the site, suppressing the feeling of oppression and harmonizing with the surrounding context.
