This is a renovation project of the wine bar specializing in Bordeaux wine in center of Roppongi, Tokyo.
To meet the limited construction time of 2 weeks, we minimized the on-site construction. Only one existing wall was moved to enlarge the function of kitchen. A punctuation was made on the storage wall to transform to bar counter. All other necessary elements; a display-shelf and 1m x 4m size of a brass counter top, were fabricated in the shop to reduce the construction period.
We wanted to provide the special experience through the Bordeaux wine and sommeliers. The new bar counter works as a communication tool to activate the conversation between customers and the sommelier. The books and the special wine glassed displayed in the shelf become a flavor to make the conversation smoother.
The display shelf also is able to store a large amount of wine glasses, as well as provides the space of cashier. It contributes to enhance the service without adding more sommelier.

ボルドーワインに特化したワインバーの改修設計。
２週間という短期間の施工期間があらかじめ決められていたため、既存壁を減築に留めた上で、壁面家具、真鍮天板、4m×1mの巨大な木製天板など、あらかじめ工場で製作のスタートできる家具的な設計を中心に計画した。この店の素晴らしい価値である、ボルドーワインと、熟練のソムリエを、ここでしか得られない特別な体験につなげたいと考えた。ソムリエとゲストとのコミュニケーションを活発化する、バーカウンターと、ボルドーワインの書籍や、特別なグラスを際立たせるディスプレイを設けた。バーカウンターの前には、長さ４ｍの巨大なウォールナットのテーブルを設置している。
席でワインを注がれる時だけでなく、バーカウンターでソムリエとじっくりと話ができることで、知識や会話を含めた特別な体験を得られる空間としている。カウンターに面した大テーブルでは、パーティー等の様々なワインイベントに対応可能となる。
